Bone Marrow Transplantation
The Bone Marrow Transplantation Department is pioneering new approaches to treating a range of diseases including hematological malignancies and solid tumors, as well as a large range of life-threatening non-malignant diseases, including genetic and metabolic disorders. It focuses on developing creating new treatment protocols. The Department offers consultation and treatment of malignant blood disorders; genetic diseases that can be treated through bone marrow transplants; and immune deficiency.

Cardiology
The Cardiology Department provides counseling for patients with cardiac problems and treats patients with all types of heart and vascular diseases. Tests include 24-hour ECG and echocardiography. The department also performs catheterizations, dilatation of coronary arteries and valves, dilatation of coronary arteries, placement of stents and electro-physiological tests for arrhythmia, as well as implantation of pacemakers.

Cardiothoracic Surgery
Specialties: heart transplants, by-pass surgery, tumors, stent placement

Dental Clinic
Through the School of Dentistry the Clinic provides the following specialized services: Maxillofacial Rehabilitation, Orthodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontics and Pedodontics and dental implants. Patients can receive necessary dental treatment under general anesthesia. Special dental services are provided for patients suffering from severe systemic illness.

Dermatology
The Dermatology Department addresses a variety of skin disorders, some of whose treatments are unique to Hadassah. Department clinics include: pediatric dermatology clinic; clinic for allergic skin conditions (contact dermatitis); clinic for computerized monitoring of results; the Mohs Surgical Clinic; PUVA; an ulcer clinic; the clinic for hair loss, with special methods for diagnosis and treatment.

Ear, Nose and Throat and Head / Neck Surgery
Specialties: tumors, cochlear implants, complicated neck surgery

Endocrinology
The department diagnoses and treats all areas of endocrinology including diabetes, disorders of the thyroid, pituitary, and adrenal glands and male and female genitals, with special services for children suffering from developmental and growth disorders.

Genetics
The Department of Human Genetics provides genetic counseling for families and individuals with genetic diseases, diagnosis of genetic diseases, and prenatal diagnosis (amniocentesis and CVS). Counseling is also availin the field of familial cancer and carrier surveys.

Maxillofacial Surgery
Specialties: trauma, tumors, microsurgery

Medical Biophysics and Nuclear Medicine
This department conducts all scanning in adults and children using both the planar method and tomography (SPECT). The department specializes in unique scans relating to cancer and heart and brain diseases, using a PET camera.

Medicine
The Department of Medicine performs tests, diagnosis, and sophisticated treatment for all internal medical disorders. It contains a wide variety of specialty and sub-specialty units as well as a number of multidisciplinary units including:

  • The Center of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology
  • The Center for Research, Treatment and Prevention of Atherosclerosis
  • The Center for Diabetes and its Complications
  • The Center for Study of Lupus and Related Autoimmune Diseases
  •  The Center for Liver Diseases

Nephrology and Hypertension
The Department of Nephrology and Hypertension specializes in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of acute and chronic kidney disease, including hemo and peritoneal dialysis, as well as the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of illnesses related to disturbances in calcium and phosphorus metabolism.

Neurology
The Neurology Department treats functional disturbances of the brain, spinal column, peripheral nervous system, and muscles, as well as neurological diseases such as epilepsy, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy. There is also a service for neuropsychological and neurophysiological tests (EMG, EEG), and a lab for diagnosing neurological diseases.

Obstetrics and Gynecology
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology deals with normal pregnancies and pregnancy-related complications; female and male fertility; menopause; birth control; and all fields of modern gynecological surgery, including laparoscopic and major surgery. The Department is known for its excellence in In Vitro Fertilization.

Oncology
The Sharett Institute - A Complete Cancer Care Center

This extensive facility provides comprehensive treatment for the whole spectrum of human neoplasia. The Sharett approach to cancer integrates the use of radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormone therapy and gene therapy singly or in conjunction with each other.

Sharett's services include an inpatient unit, a large outpatient clinic, an outpatient day-care center for chemotherapy, a radiation therapy unit, a brachytherapy unit, a program for adolescent oncology, neuro-oncology, psycho-oncology and dermato-oncology units, a multi-disciplinary pain clinic, genetic oncology service, and psychological and social support services.

Ophthalmology
The Department of Ophthalmology provides medical and surgical treatment, including state-of-the-art cataract surgery and surgical laser treatment to correct myopia or hyperopia and retinal surgery.

The Department has a special unit dedicated to Pediatric Ophthalmology.

Orthopedics
The Orthopedics Department provides services in a wide range of orthopedic fields, and offers a high level of specialization. The department has specialists in shoulder disorders, amputations, and fitting prosthetics and orthopedic shoes. For each of the above fields, there are specific sub-specialties with experts in each area, such as Pediatric Orthopedics, Oncological Orthopedics and Ilitarov surgery.

Pain Clinic
This multidisciplinary clinic offers consultation and treatment from a variety of departments. It treats patients of all ages suffering from acute or chronic pain, post-operative or post-traumatic pain and any type of chronic pain whose source is malignant or benign.

Pediatrics
The Pediatrics Department is staffed by specialists and sub-specialists in all the major pediatric fields: neurology, nephrology, hematology, oncology, endocrinology, metabolic diseases, cardiology, and neonatology.

Pediatric Surgery
Specialties: birth defects, trauma, complicated digestive track surgery

Plastic and Esthetic Surgery and Burns Unit

Pulmonology
The Pulmonology Institute treats all types of lung diseases, including asthma, in adults and children. The Institute includes lung function laboratories, and bronchoscopy rooms to facilitate diagnosis and treatment of patients, with special techniques for infants and youngsters.

Surgery
In addition to the departments listed below, the department includes the following units: general surgery; oncological surgery for cancer-related diseases; bariatric surgery, for obesity; a Level One trauma unit; and a transplant unit as well as an outpatient surgical unit for ambulatory surgery.

Rehabilitation
The Rehabilitation Department treats paralysis resulting from illness and injuries, as well as The effects of osteoporosis, heart attacks and heart surgery; rehabilitation following amputation; musculoskeletal and spinal pain syndromes. It also provides functional evaluations and prognoses.

Vascular Surgery
Specialties: functional evaluations, aortic stents, blood clot complications

Urology
The Urology Department handles surgical and medical treatments relating to the kidneys and urinary tract, in children and adults, men and women. Subspecialties include treatment of male genital diseases, urinary disorders and incontinence, urinary tract and genital infections, erectile dysfunction, sexual dysfunction, and male infertility. The Department offers lithotripsy treatment for kidneys and urinary tract, and treats benign and malignant tumors of the kidneys, urinary bladder, prostate, and testicles.
