"Eshel "Drug Information Center for Ages 70 and Over

The Eshel Drug Information Center, an initiative of Prof. Krakow, was established three years ago. The center was founded with the help the Joint Distribution Committee (JDC). Our philosophy is that any information given to patients about medications will significantly improve their responsiveness and adherence to prescriptions. In order to meet this important goal, Hadassah has collaborated with Eshel to establish The Drug Information Center for Ages 70 and over.

The center is made up of a team of medication experts from Hadassah and consists of experts in clinical pharmacology and clinical pharmacists. Their goal is to continue responding to all inquiries and increase the knowledge, awareness and involvement of the population regarding the medication they take.

The center receives inquiries from seniors all over the country (approx. 1500-2000 per annum) and has recently opened a service center in Russian due to a high demand. The center offers free service to patients, their families and caretakers by qualified professionals.

Typical drug-related questions include:
Should I take the medication in the morning or the evening?
Should it be administered with or without food?
Are there any interactions between my different medications?
What are the common side effects of my medication?
Can I take a number of medications simultaneously?
