Chronic diseases

A chronic disease is a persistant condition, disease or infection with long-lasting effects. A disease is defined as 'chronic' if it lasts for longer than three months.

Usually, the manifestations of the disease will change over time - sometimes the child affected will feel fine and healthy and sometimes the child will have an intense outbreak of the disease and need urgent medical care. Like every disease, family support is extremely important, possibly even more so.

The Pediatric Chronic Disease Center at Hadassah Mt. Scopus treats children with a wide variety of chronic diseases and conditions. Information about making an appointment at the chronic disease center can be found HERE.
