§ Etiology of impacted canines.
§ Evidence for the Guidance theory versus Heredity in the causation of maxillary canine impaction comes from a higher prevalence of the phenomenon seen in the presence of anomalous lateral incisors than when the lateral incisor is absent.
§ Occurrence of missing teeth, impacted maxillary canines and transposition of teeth in Down syndrome.
