The Surgery Division comprises the following units:
§ General surgery
§ Oncological surgery (for cancer-related diseases)
§ Bariatric surgery (for obesity),
§ Trauma unit
§ Transplant unit.
There is an outpatient surgical unit for ambulatory surgery. Among the most prominent surgical procedures performed by the Division are:
§ Removal of tumors, such as cancer of the breast, neck, thyroid, esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine, liver, bile ducts, and malignant melanoma; laparoscopic surgery of the gall bladder, hernias, and colon; surgery of the digestive tract, ulcers in the digestive system, and colon infections, while preserving the anal sphincters.
§ Complex liver surgery on primary and metastatic tumors of the liver; surgery to correct abdominal hernias; emergency surgery via the emergency room; transplants of the kidneys, pancreas, and liver; and stomach reduction surgery in cases of obesity.
