The Nuclear Medicine Department of Medical Biophysics and Nuclear Medicine carries out all the routine scanning in adults and children, such as: bone scans; scans of the thyroid, kidneys, lungs, and brain; different types of urological scans; and heart scans: thallium myocardial blood supply (MIBI), myocardial viability (FDG), and heart wall mobilization (MUGA).
In addition, all scans for hemato-oncological illnesses are produced here, such as gallium scans, etc. Scans are performed using both the planar method and tomography (SPECT). Furthermore, the department specializes in unique scans relating to cancer and heart and brain diseases, using a PET camera.
