Improving Sexual Function
What is Impotence?
Impotence or erectile dysfunction is defined by lack of erection or maintaining erection, which is needed for complete sexual intercourse. Research shows that about 50% of the men between the ages of 40 to 70 suffer to some extent from erectile dysfunction. However, younger men may suffer from erectile dysfunction and the problem increases with age.
The Normal Erection.
Normal erection occurs by a rapid engorgement of blood inside the penis, leading to swollenness and finally rigidity of the penis. The erection is highly dependent on good blood flow in the penile arteries, effective obstruction of it's draining veins and good control of the nervous system. In addition, a balanced hormonal and psychological condition is required to allow erection.
