What is physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a profession which treats, alleviates and prevents a wide range of medical problems. The overall goal is to restore the patient’s (client?) ability to function in the most independent way as possible and to improve his quality of life.
The treatment is administered by the means of: individually designed exercises, manual techniques, electro- thermal therapy, Lokomat robotic device to improve ambulation and hydrotherapy.
Who receives the physiotherapy services?
§ Hospitalized patients
§ Outpatients: members of the various Kupot Holim with payment from the Kupa (it is possible to receive treatment via private payments), soldiers and hospital personnel.
What problems do we treat?
§ Treatment after fractures, sprains, sports injuries, multiple trauma after car accidents
§ Treatment for neck and back pain
§ Treatment of diseases that cause muscle weakness and limitation of movement
§ Treatment of problems of bowel and bladder control
§ Treatment of balance and dizziness problems
§ Treatment of temporo-mandibular (jaw )problems
§ Respiratory rehabilitation due to respiratory system limitations or disease
§ Cardiac rehabilitation and return to fitness after heart attacks or open heart surgery
§ Exercise classes to prevent or delay osteoporosis
§ Treatment of postural problems
§ Hydrotherapy – treatment in the heated pool at Mt Scopus
§ Fitting of assistive devices and mobility equipment
§ Ergonometric consultations
