The Central Laboratory is committed to medical laboratory service. It is in a special position of being both a medical central laboratory and a reference laboratory, providing extensive laboratory services in the broad disciplines of:

More than 3.5 Million laboratory tests are performed annually, through a broad range repertoire exceeding 200 different test procedures and analytes. The laboratory serve inpatients and outpatients of the two Hadassah hospitals, as well as other hospitals and clinics in Israel and abroad.

STAT services (emergency laboratory testing) are available at the two Hadassah hospitals. The STAT laboratories function within the division and provide a 24 hrs per day/7 days per week/365 days per year service.

Consultation by laboratory professionals is provided on analyte and methodology selection, result interpretation, and the relationship of laboratory parameters to specific patient groups and disease states. The laboratory also provides professional support in specimen collection and preparation procedures, and serves clinical studies to evaluate the safety and efficacy of experimental drugs.

The Central Laboratory is accredited through the Israel Laboratory Accreditation Authority in compliance with ISO-15189 International Standard for Medical  Laboratories.
