Welcome to the

Henrietta Szold Hadassah-Hebrew University

School of Nursing

Where History Meets Excellence

Thank you for your interest in the Henrietta Szold Hadassah-Hebrew University School of Nursing.

Who we are

Hadassah has pioneered nursing education in Israel from the organization's inception to this day.  This first school of nursing was founded in 1918, in what was then called Palestine, as part of Henrietta Szold's vision to improve the health of the diverse population.

Today, the school offers a wide range of programs and courses, including a Bachelors in the Science of Nursing (BSN) and a Master's Degree in clinical nursing, specializing in the area of adult care.  Many of our faculty are involved in cutting edge research while maintaining individual private practices.

·           I am a student with Israeli citizenship.  How do I apply to your Bachelor’s in the Science of Nursing (BSN) program.

Please visit the Hebrew University site for general undergraduate admissions http://info.huji.ac.il/inner.asp.

·           I am an overseas student interested in your BSN program.

If you currently have a high school diploma or equivalent, please visit the Hebrew University admissions department http://info.huji.ac.il/inner.asp and choose  overseas students from the top menu to determine if you are eligible to apply. Please note that all classes are given in Hebrew.  In addition to the general admissions, the School of Nursing maintains the following requirements:

·           Studies extend over four years.

·           Only candidates born before December 31, 1989 are eligible.

·           Registered nurses (RNs) must submit proof of their status (including their registration number).

·           Prior to a final decision, suitable candidates are interviewed in Israel. During the interview, candidates must mention any previous Nursing studies.

·           Students who did not receive an exemption from Hebrew and/or English language studies are urged to participate in a summer course prior to the beginning of the academic year.

·           Background in computer applications and in chemistry is recommended.

·           The Medics program at Kaplan Hospital and the Program for RN's at Kaplan and Hadassah hospitals are dependant upon a minimum number of students.

·           At the end of the Bachelor's program, students must take an examination administered by the Ministry of Health for licensing. A condition for professional registration is Israeli citizenship or "permanent residency".

·           If you currently have a Bachelor’s degree in another field, please visit the Faculty of Medicine website www.md.huji.ac.il and choose Nursing under programs listed under Education to view the eligibility requirements for the BA to RN program.  Please note that this program will provide you with RN certification but not a Bachelor’s in the Science of Nursing.
