Dr. Yair Birnbaum – Associate Director General and in charge of Medical Services, HMO
Dr. Yuval Weiss – Director, Hadassah University Hospital, Ein-Kerem.
Dr. Yuval Weiss, until now Deputy Director of Hadassah University Hospital in Ein-Kerem, was appointed as director of the hospital. Dr. Yair Birnbaum, current director of the hospital will be Associate Director General and in charge of medical services at the Hadassah Medical Organization, Jerusalem.
Dr. Weiss, MD; MPH, is a graduate of Ben Gurion University’s Faculty of Health. He completed his residency at Hadassah and served as a Senior Physician in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. He earned his Master’s Degree in Public Health from the Hadassah-Hebrew University Braun School of Public Health and completed a residency in Hospital Management at Hadassah. In 2003, he was appointed to his current position.
The recipient of several awards and a grant from the Chief Scientist of the Israel Ministry of Health, Dr. Weiss has presented numerous papers at national and international conferences and authored many research articles that have appeared in prestigious medical journals such as Critical Care Medicine, The Journal for Healthcare Quality and Anesthesiology.
Dr. Weiss served in the Medical Corps of the Israel Defense Forces, first as a colonel and then as Deputy Surgeon General. A native of Jerusalem, he is married and the father of three children.
