2500 delegates from all over the USA attended the annual Hadassah Convention, last July, in New York. They came to meet each other, receive information and updates on the myriad of Hadassah activities, look back at a very successful year and outline activities for the coming year.
Two of the various climaxes of this year's convention were the launching of the official fundraising campaign for the Sarah Wetsman Davidson tower (after more than $100 million have already been raised during a silent phase of the campaign, from donors of more than $1 million each), and the election of the new Hadassah National president.
June Walker ended her term as National President after 4 years, and was elected as the Chairperson of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations – the umbrella organization of Jewish organizations in the USA. This is a personal honor of the highest level, as well as a recognition of Hadassah's importance.
The new Hadassah National President is Nancy Falchuk from Boston, a nurse by profession and a long time Hadassah leader. Other new senior posts were announced, including a new Hadassah Medical Organization Chair – Annette Sondock from Houston, Texas.
